Bundeena Residence
Over the past 3 years, Sibella has been designing and renovating her very own house. After working on photography sets, master planning, full-builds from the ground up, bar overhauls, colour schemes, accommodation styling, home interiors & restaurant fit-outs for many many clients over many many years, she has focused her time (amongst running 2 companies) and created a home that is steeped in nostalgia.
Her house is located in the beachside town of Bundeena in the Royal National Park, 1 hour south of Sydney, Australia. A magical part of the world with the second oldest national park as her playground and multiple beaches within minutes of walking to delve into every kind of water-loving activity and endless inspiration for her paint-making, watercolours, botanical archiving, natural fragrance creations, soundscape captures, photography, seed banking and all the other creative pastimes she explores.
Her signature mix of styles & periods has created a home full of warmth, comfort & curiosity. Each surface has been given attention, and although it may appear to have always looked like this forever, the mod cons of solar panels, heated floors, AC, electric louvred windows and wine fridges are all shrouded and embedded into the DNA of this home. Sibella has used the house as a canvas for her many product design collaborations from the tiles throughout, all interior & exterior paint colours, wallpaper, textiles, upholstered and outdoor furniture as well as her lighting, hardware & homewares from her own manufacturing & retail company, The Society inc. She has upskilled and lent her hand to wallpapering, painting, staining, installing hardware, sanding, hanging, and creating her native garden through hard work, digging, making beds, plant identification and selection.
Sibella’s home is a reflection of her natural storytelling expressed through creativity that is not only a visual feast but felt as you experience wonder and intrigue throughout her home.
